→ ~ Music was a big part of my life growing up. I played the Trumpet all the way through marching band and jazz band. I also sang tenor in choir. I played the guitar, bass, keyboard and was a vocalist.
The other thing I did in highschool was start a band with someone I knew from my grade. He and I had a conversation at the Rainbow Records where he worked during the summer and we talked about getting people together and jamming. Thus in 1986 was born a highschool band known as "Vertigo." Since we thought our music must be inducing the sensation of vertigo we the named our band as such. We performed in our Highschool "Garage Band Night" and won the top prize of $100. We performed 2 songs, "Somthing about you" by Level 42 and "In between days" by the Cure. Unfortunately there is no video for this event, but here is the program:
My friend Kevin, who was part of the band, had borrowed my keyboards (an Ensoniq EPS and a Roland Juno 2) and created a cover of Save a prayer by Duran Duran. We used my Tascam Portastudio 4 track and recorded the cover. Here is that cover that we recorded back in '86:
Save a Prayer (Duran Duran Cover)
It isn't exactely the best recording of all time, but we did have fun with it.
My friend Jason, who was part of the band, and I wrote more songs than we can count or remember. I unfortunately only have a handful of them as well as some that i wrote and recorded myself.
Here is one that we wrote in the late 80's:
Heavan on Earth (original from the late 80's)
Here is another random performance with another group of people I played with for a performance class i took for fun (I am the the guy playimg bass and singing, Ted is on Drums, Suzanne on Keys and Vocals and Mukunda on Guitar) The first video is for Superman by REM and the second is Time stand still by Rush:
A few years ago I sang some Karaoke and part of it was recorded. I always like a good Journey song and Faithfully is one of my favorites:
More to come!
